The Ministry of Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska (MERRC), supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank Group, started the implementation of the Investor Aftercare Program in the Republic of Srpska.
The Program is a first comprehensive activity aimed at encouraging the existing investors in strategically selected sectors in the Republic of Srpska to reinvest, and at improving links with the local economy.
Investor aftercare is a key component of investment promotion and a way to capitalize the efforts made by all levels of government on attracting investment to BiH.
Investor aftercare is built around maintaining relations with the existing investors and providing support to growth and development of their companies, which in turn have a huge impact on local economic development.
Primary objectives of the Project, to be implemented through a cooperation network, are the following: enable simplest and most efficient possible start-up for investors, keep the existing investors, facilitate and support investors in new investments, assist companies in identification of opportunities for expansion and new investments primarily through new and value-added activities.
The cooperation network is an essential mechanism for interaction with the existing investors, in view of the necessity of cooperation between all levels of government on removal of barriers faced by investors in their operation.
Their task is to create conditions for new investments and new production lines, from the moment when investors, by selecting a location for their operation, become part of the local community. It is of key importance that both local and republic institutions support the existing investors in their intent to expand operation, all in order to contribute to sustainable economic development of local communities.
Presentation of the Aftercare Program will be held today and tomorrow at Vrucica Spa, Teslic, and first pilot-visits to investors are scheduled for Friday, March 15, 2013, in Eastern Sarajevo, to EDENGARDEN at 11.00 and to AGARICUS at 12:30.
