Have you ever in your adult life looked in the mirror and thought to yourself:
“WoW, I thought I’d be further ahead by now…”
If you have, you’re not alone.
I’m going to share a couple of key points I’ve learned to make sure you live to your full potential.
The best way to approach the decision about if a Scrum career is best for you is to first identify your learning and skills development goals.
As Scrum suggests, let’s check the one by one 🙂
Why Scrum, Why Right Now, Why You Should do it?
Am I too old to start my Scrum Career?
To find out if you are too old to get into Scrum, ask your self following questions:
- What is it that you wish to accomplish in the next stage of your career?
- Do You Like Helping Others?
- Do You Need to Be in the Spotlight?
- Are You a Good Listener?
- Can You Influence Without Authority?
- Are You Comfortable with Uncertainty?
- Can You Handle Conflict Well?
If most of the answers are YES, then your age doesn’t matter. A good Scrum team member is first about people, this is all that is important right now. And that is why you should go for it.
I understand that you might have other issues to deal with:
I don’t have free time to get prepared…
Yes of course. We are all the same.
Some people have no free time because they choose not to. They deliberately avoid downtime and hardly ever “disconnect” from their work or the world.
Some people are more active and like to keep their calendars full.
The solution is to remove the things from your life that are not contributing to your success, or that are just a waste of your time.
You need 1 hour a day to learn Scrum. Can you find this hour in your busy schedule? I am sure you can…
I need you to reserve 1 hour a day to get prepared for Scrum, for one month.
Say I can.
Great.
Get certified in Scrum
The next step to present yourself as a more advanced professional is to get certified. In Scrum, there are 3 roles:
- Scrum Master,
- Product Owner, and
- Developers.
Once you choose which one works for you, you can find out which one works for you by following my content on YouTube, you should get your official certificate. It’s not expensive and you should be able to pass on the first attempt.
Get all skills necessary for this role
To make sure you pass this certification, and even more importantly, to get all skills necessary for this role, one comprehensive course might be a solution for you.
I’d love the opportunity to share the rest of the knowledge that I’ve learned through my 10+ years of Scrum experience. Including Scrum strategies and practices, how to get certified, where to find these Scrum open positions, and so much more than that…
I’d love to share all of it.
So I just spent the last 2 years and I built a course to show you everything I’ve learned and I can’t wait to share it with you. You will find the links at the end of this post.
But first…
Why you should take this Scrum course?
If you so far find Scrum interesting, let me explain why you should take THIS course:
- Smart people pay for speed. Are you aware of how valuable my course is? Because I will explain all these years of my work compressed into hours.
- They’re overwhelmed because there’s too much great information out there for free so the course curates the best information, it gives the students a step-by-step implementation plan.
- This course is not selling information but transformation.
- People take what they pay for more seriously than what they got for free. That will always be the case.
- People are paying for access to the course creator, which they can’t really get with your free stuff. They get more of your attention when they pay for it.
How does this course work?
If you are struggling financially...
I would really want to assist you on your Scrum journey.
If you are currently struggling financially, we can work on some discount just for you.
More questions and answers…
Will this course be enough to pass the certification and gather the knowledge required to go through the recruitment process and start working?
ANSWER: Yes definitely. I have a separate section dedicated to Scrum certification, where I compare man certification bodies, with pros and cons. I also add more tips for fast self-preparation.
Another section is dedicated to getting your first Scrum Master job. Where to look for these jobs (on-site or remote), estimated Salaries, how to apply, how to prepare your CV, and much more…
But most importantly, you will get all the techniques you can use when you start working. This is what makes this course so powerfull. My students can confirm it…
I saw the price and if I need also to connect with the certification. It is way too high as per my current situation.
ANSWER: About the certification price. For Scrum Master is just $150. So I don’t think it is a big deal because this is a permanent certificate without the need for renewal every year.
But if the certification price is a problem for you. You can even apply without the certificate. Because, if you know the techniques that are required for the job, then this doesn’t matter. You can do it later if you want.
Where can I know you a little better, or ask a question?
ANSWER: You can find me on YouTube, LinkedIn…
Final thoughts
All things considered, can make for a very rewarding career choice.
The onus lies on you to do your research, consider the factors involved, reflect on your career goals, and make the right decision for yourself.
